A meaningful opportunity exists within the Ministry of Education to fill the post of Testing Supervisor / Psychologist at the Child Development Programme (CDP).

?

CDP provides a range of valuable early intervention services for children from birth to?four?(4) years of age and their families, including developmental screenings and assessments, speech-language, physical, occupational assessments and therapy, general developmental stimulation, targeted intervention for clients with developmental challenges, behaviour management and family counseling.

?

Working under the direction of the Coordinator of CDP the postholder manages, supervises and implements the assessment service for preschool children.??The postholder provides consultation and collaboration regarding developmental issues, as required.

The duties of the post include but are not limited to the following:

?

??????????Supervision of developmental testers;

??????????Conducting assessments of young children;

??????????Making written recommendations for individualized intervention services;

??????????The provision of advice, educational and/or resource materials to families regarding child development and parent issues as necessary;

??????????Attending clinical case conference and interagency committee meetings to plan intervention strategies for children and their families, as needed;

??????????Consultation with other CDP staff about developmental issues and specific cases;

??????????The design and implementation of research and evaluation strategies for CDP;

??????????Participation in community outreach regarding the programmes and services of CDP; and

??????????Educating parent and community groups regarding child development issues.

The successful applicant must possess a minimum of a Doctoral degree in Child Psychology or Developmental Psychology or equivalent from an accredited institution and be eligible for licensure in their place of training.?However, a lesser graduate degree will be acceptable where satisfactory proof is provided to demonstrate that the education provided is substantially equivalent to the education provided in an accredited doctorial programme in psychology.??Registration or eligibility for registration under the Bermuda Psychological Practitioners Act 1998 would be an asset.

A minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience testing young children, including the administration and interpretation of standardised measures, is required.??Experience in research design, implementation and analysis is also required. The successful applicant must possess a valid driver?s license. Supervisory experience is preferred.
