The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery at HACC, Central Pennsylvania?s Community College, will host the annual student photography exhibit Nov. 21-Dec. 14, 2012. The exhibit will feature nearly 100 photos selected by art faculty and chosen from the work of almost 400 HACC photography students. Many of the photos are for sale.
The community is invited to a free reception with the photography students from 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
HACC students were invited to submit one to two prints from each of their photography classes for the exhibit. Art faculty then selected the final collection, which covers a variety of subject matter, including landscapes, portraits, still life and architecture, with silver gelatin, chromagenic and archival pigment prints of various sizes.
The HACC photography program consists of a large, traditional black and white photo developing lab, 14 individual color dark rooms, a digital photography classroom and a photography ?Northern Light? studio with retractable roof.
Since 1988, HACC students have successfully competed in photography competitions with over 2,000 students from other colleges and universities. Students have been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, employed as photographers for local newspapers or earned additional degrees in higher education institutions.
Fall gallery hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, or by appointment. Events are free and open to the public.
