GOLF
Roberts makes hole in one
Reed Roberts, of Frankfort, hit a hole in one June 30 on the par 3,?fourth hole at Picadome Golf Course in Lexington. Roberts used a pitching wedge. The shot was witnessed by Megan Drake.

FCHS Dance Team?scramble is July 12
The Franklin County High School Dance Team will?host its annual golf scramble at Juniper Hill Golf Course July 12. The cost is $45 per player with lunch by Staxx BBQ provided at noon.
The scramble will start at 1 p.m.?The event features a $300 prize for the first place team with?lots of door prizes and a silent auction.
Those interested in playing may contact Sandra Wilcox at 502-229-4137 or Mary Morse at 502-330-0785 for forms and further information or they may register the day of the tourney.

Avenues for Women golf scramble is July 26
The Avenues for Women Sixth Annual Golf Scramble will be July 26 at Juniper Hill Golf Course.
The entry fee is $240 for a four-person team or $60 for individuals. The cost includes cart, green fees and a complimentary lunch prior to play. The scramble will have a shotgun start at noon. Registration and lunch will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
Prizes will be awarded and mulligans, skirts and miniskirts can be purchased. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. To sign up or for a hole sponsorship, please contact the Avenues for Women Center at 502-695-0512 or Julie Dawson at 502-320-6745.
Avenues for Women is a state-licensed medical clinic which offers a wide range of free services for women and girls.


BONDURANT
Football meeting is July 11
Any incoming sixth, seventh or eighth grade student interested in playing football for Bondurant Middle School, there will be an informative parent meeting 6 p.m. July 11 in the BMS cafeteria.
Practice begins 6 p.m. July 15. Players must have a current sports physical to participate. For more information, call 502-229-6374.

ARCHERY
3-D Archery League starting
Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites is offering a 3-D Family Archery League starting July 11 and running through Aug. 8.
The five-week league will have five divisions ? NASP (ages 9-17, NASP rules and equipment), Youth (ages 9-13, any bow), Young Adult (ages 14-17, any bow), Women (no restriction, any bow), and Men (no age restriction, any bow).
The entry fee is $25 for each division.
Registration forms are available at the Parks Office at Juniper Hill Park and at the archery range during hours of operation.

FYFL
Final signups are July 13
The Frankfort Youth Football League will have its final signups for the upcoming season 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 13 at Harrod Field in Capitol View Park.
The cost for football players and cheerleaders is $100.
Anyone who has not been sized should call 502-803-6483 to set up an appointment to be sized for a jersey.


VOLLEYBALL
New program starting at EMS
?? ?Elkhorn Middle School will be starting a volleyball program for the upcoming 2013 fall season. They are accepting applications for coaches. Applications can be completed by visiting the Franklin County Public Schools website at www.franklin.k12.ky.us/.

Volleyball program starting at BMS
Bondurant Middle School has started a new girls volleyball program for the upcoming 2013 fall season.?There will be a registration meeting for parents and players 7:30 p.m. July 8 in the Bondurant auditorium.
Information about the volleyball program will be presented and coaches will be introduced. More information about the volleyball program can be found on Facebook by searching for Bondurant Volleyball.
Tryouts for the team will be held at 6 to 7:30 p.m. July?10 and 11 at the BMS gym.

RUNNING
Graefenburg 5K is July 13
Registrations are now being accepted for the ninth annual Paul Brooks Memorial 5K Run/Walk, 8 a.m. July 13 at Graefenburg Baptist Church.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and breakfast.?Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female runners as well as to the top three male and female participants in each age category.

Graefenburg Baptist Church is located on U.S. 60, just west of the Franklin/Shelby County line.

Additional speed camps scheduled
Western Hills High School assistant track coach Christian Adair will be conducting camps focusing on speed and technique training 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays every week at the WHHS track.
The camp is open to all school-age children.

Volleyball tryouts are July 15
The Franklin County volleyball team will hold tryouts 4 p.m. July 15 at the FCHS gym. There will be pre-tryout practices 4 to 6 p.m. July 10 and 11.
Soccer camp July 15-18
The Franklin County soccer teams are sponsoring a youth soccer camp July 15-18, 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day at Lakeview Park?s high school practice fields.
The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-13. The cost is $80. Ken McDaniel, who is the founder of the Kansas City Outlaws Soccer Club, will be the guest coach.

SWIMMING
Lessons set at Juniper Hill
A final session of group swim lessons is being offered at the Juniper Hill pool July 15-26.
The lessons will be from 10:30-11:15 a.m. each day.
The cost is $45 with a discount for two or more per family.

DANCE
WHHS camp July 15-18
Western Hills dance team is hosting its annual ?I Love Rock and Roll!? summer dance camp July 15-18 at Western Hills High School gym.
The camp will be from 8 a.m.-noon each day.
The camp is open to all students who will be in kindergarten through the eighth grade in the 2013-14 school year.
The cost is $45 per participant with additional siblings attending for only $35 each. In the team?s continuing efforts to give back to the community, $3 of each paid registration will be donated to the International Child Amputee Network.
