Track Teams Begin Outdoor Season at Aztec Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. ? With the indoor season now complete, the Big Red men's and women's track and field teams get started on their outdoor campaigns at the Aztec Invitational from Thursday to Saturday at San Diego State.

Far away from freezing temperatures and snow in Ithaca, Southern California is expected to be in the high 60s for much of the weekend as Cornell's athletes compete against some of the best opposition in the nation.

Events begin Thursday with the decathlon and pentathlon, though the Big Red has no athletes competing in those events. On Friday, the rest of the competition begins in earnest with the men's 110-meter hurdles and the women's long jump. Events continue all the way through late Saturday afternoon with the 4x400 relays.
